I’d like to welcome you all to my blog. This is my first blog of any sort (yes, I’m a bit of a Luddite in that sense). Why this “lateness” to it? I guess it’s just some innate fear of not having enough interesting things to blog about. But, I have been convinced to start one anyways, so here we are…
A bit about myself. First of all, unless you’ve met me before, you probably wouldn’t have ever guessed how I looked from my name. I have a very “Latin” first name and an Asian last name. The amalgamation is not without cause: both of my parents are Korean, but they met and got married in Brazil, where I was born. They wanted to give me a local name, which “Fabio” seemed to fit the bill. Nothing was really unusual about it, until we all immigrated to the USA when I was twelve. Guess what? All of a sudden, I was the “Fabio” in the class. Let me tell you, being a geeky computer guy with the unusual name didn’t exactly make me the popular guy in high school… In any case, I survived, graduated from college and ended up in Microsoft, where I’ve been for the past 10 years (11 in June!). Time does fly…
So, I’ve been in the IIS team for the past 3+ years now, where I’m responsible for the area called “Process Model” (among other things). This includes things like the WAS service, APPHOSTSVC service, webhost (non-Http activation) and other miscellaneous bits. I like to joke that I’m responsible for most things happening in the system that don’t involve configuration or direct execution and interation of the request.
In any case, hope you enjoy some of the tidbits, hints and just plain babblings of this blog. Oh, and do send me feedback on topics of interest. Like I said, I didn’t want to start a blog and not have anything interesting to talk about…
